My Story

Having crested over the age of 50, my life's work is now to develop the next generation of leaders by sharing practical wisdom that bridges the gap between business theory and real-world application. 

Through teaching, mentoring, and writing, I endeavor to help current and future professionals—particularly in commercial real estate—understand not just what to do, but how to do it with integrity, humility, and effectiveness. 

I teach Strategic Asset Management in the Master of Real Estate program at the University of San Diego where I was nominated for the Professor of the Year Award by the Knauss Business Graduate Students in 2024 and 2025.  

I am on the board of advisors of Brixton Capital, a vertically integrated operator of retail and multifamily.

I have personally invested in 60+ commercial real estate investments over past 20+ years.

I am the former Chief Operating Officer of Westcore, an owner and operator of industrial properties across the United States, where I focused on operations, strategy, culture, and internal education (Westcore University).  I had direct oversight of asset management, construction, property management and insurance.  I started at Westcore in 2004 as Associate Acquisitions Manager and grew with the company to become the COO.  

I received a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the University of Southern California.
